The above & beyond Umrah experience

"Wow...it's be pretty awsome to go for umrah and take some of these classes....what is this albaseerah anyway?..." I spoke to my husband as he worked on the computer. The topic caught his attention and he agreed that the experience would definately be worthwhile...however, as usual, Shaitan tries to put an immediate stop to any good intentions. "I don't think I'll be able to get off from school...It's kind of a stretch. We'll see." With that, the topic, the the thought to make it a reality, and anything to do with al baseerah got put to aside. However, the will of Allah always prevails. After having been introduced to the idea of going to attend an educational seminar taking place in Mekka and Madinah by my mother, who was being pushed towards it by yet another da'ai of Islam, the idea never left my mind. I was in the local masjid for a weekend Quran class for sisters and a flyer suddenly caught my eye. Umar-ibn-al-Khattab Educational Seminar. Resgister now. An opportunity to learn from some of the top scholars of our time. "Hmmm......sounds good. Sounds a lot like what my mother was telling me about a couple of months ago....." I picked it up.....all the while thinking that it was too good to be true. Allah, the controller of all affairs wanted it to be. He made it such that both my and my husband's schedules were tentatively cleared for that time period. "Might as well apply...but we better hurry, the deadline is in a couple of days." Quickly we went about filling out the application, the whole notion of going to the Holy Lands to learn along with performing Umrah still seemed surreal...to good to be true......and thats exactly how it turned out even after it was a reality.....Allah wanted it to be....and so it was.....
