May Allaah preserve you
And reward us and you with good according to the best of our deeds
If you could provide some advice on how to learn Akhlaaq and Aadaab in the west. What can we do in this poluted environment to inculcate these traits.
Also, guidance on correct purification of the soul.
Perhaps you can recommend some books on these topics that could be studied and benefitted from.
And all thanks and praise is due to Allaah alone, Creator, Sustainer of all the worlds.

1. Is it permissible to eat everything that lives in the ocean?
Ex. shrimps, lobster, clams, catfish,etc.
2. If you have a halal meat store in the area in which you live in, do you STILL go to the kufaar supermarket to buy your meat, based on the recent ruling by the scholars concerning the meat in America?
3.What is the difference in eating the food of the jew (kosher) or eating the food from the people of the injeel?
Barakullahu Feekum.

As salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu
I'm a married woman and I feel marriage is not good for me. I'm not happy being married and see no benefit in it since my husband lives in another country where it's illegal to practice polygyny, which prevents him from bringing me there as his wife. I have issues with obeying him and fear for my soul in the hereafter, so my questions is:
Is it permissable for me to seek divorce out of fear I cannot obey my husband and give him his rights?

Bismillah
Alsalamu Alikum, We love you for the sake of Allah, our beloved sheik.
May Allah Bless you and give you the success to give us a quenching answer.
Many of us especially here in America have become accustom to satisfying our desires and submitting to our nafs in many of what it calls us to, but when we entered Islam and began to learn only very few of us have sought to fight this problem (and I am sorry to say I am not of the ones whom have been able to cleans there souls), so our nafs is still corrupt and uncleansed by Islam because of our lack of learning in this issue. So after we learn what is obligatory upon us from the understanding and belief in Al-shahadateyn and Salat, and fasting, and zakah and so on, we enter into the sciences of Islam such as the terminology of hadith and the foundations of fiqh and tafseer and the many other branches of knowledge, while our souls or nafs is still corrupt or at least not in very good shape. So you will see of us whom uses the knowledge he has gained to intimidate the people, or to bring victory to himself and quench his/her ego, and to attain fame, and the people become afraid to give advice or to even speak to the one of us because they know this person has some knowledge and will quickly refute what they brought whether it be correct or false. Hence all the sects and groups and people testify to the Salafee people as having knowledge, but I these issues I have noted that I find in myself and my brothers and sisters may Allah cure us from such illness, keeps some the people that seek the truth from coming to the knowledge and the true Islam we claim to hold.
May Allah bless you our beloved Sheik please give us some guidelines in purifying of our souls and seeking the knowledge we have come to love in a correct manner, so that we may have a balanced life for our selves and have a better effect on those around us.
Jazakum Allah kayer and please forgive the length of the question I ask Allah that he brings forth from the answer much good.
Wassalam.

Barakallahu Feekum Ya Al-Baseerah, May Allaah preserve you, Ameen
In brief, An Imaam decides to make hijrah (the niyyah not to return) and the majority of the community doesn't find out until he announces it in his last khutbah. At that time the community also finds out a shurah board was selected without any input from the community. The masjid had been operating close to 3 years without a shurah.
Can the Mashaykh bring some clarity to the issues in this situation with adillah, Barakallahu Feekum wa Jazakullau Khairun
May Allaah preserve and protect our Mashaykh, Ameen

as salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu yaa shaikh.
yaa shaykh, i hope that this question reaches you while you are in a good and pleasant state. and i hope that the length or subject matter of my question doesn't ruin it. i felt i needed to be as specific as possible so that you could tailor your answer specifically towards our situation.
yaa shaykh, in our community in U.S.A, there are two masjids. one is following a zindeeq leadership (according to one of the salafi scholars)by the name of w.d. mohammed. the other is not following a particular shaykh, but the muslims at this masjid follow different mathhabs. so there are:
1.those who follow the hanafi mathhab. they are the greatest in number, but they are the least active as far as the salaat goes, when we make it. there are four or five who come to salaat on a regular basis. the others, they mostly come for jumu'aah and on sunday for an arabic class for the youth.
2.those who follow the hanbali mathhab. they are here in the states, training at military bases, so their participation is even less than the hanafis. they mostly come for jumu'aah, and they are prety far enough from the masjid that we wouldnt expect them to participate like others in the town.
3.those who follow the shaafi'ee mathhab. they are few in number as well, and mostly participate in jumu'aah, although they are starting to be regulars at salaat.
4. those who are shee'aah. about four brothers and their families to be exact. and they mostly come for jumu'aah. no one knows what kind of shee'aah they are, and it doesn't really matter, as they are not so active to make a difference.
5.those who follow the salafee mathhab. they are next in number after the hanbalis, but more than all the others, as far as participition in salaat and da'waah goes. they include the imaam (myself) of the masjid and several others.
there is a 6th category:
those who follow the salafee mathhab, but do not come to the masjid because they are wanting to start a new masjid, or those who limit their participation for what ever reason.
yaa shaykh, there is not one single student of knowledge in our town, including myself. so i (and other salafis) take my knowledge from the salaf of the past and the present. whenever i preach a khutbah, it is based upon the qur'aan and the sunnah, and the explanations of these two great things from the salaf of the past, such as ibn katheer and his tafseer, ibn taymiyyah, ibn al qayyim, and those like them. and from the present time, like shaykh bin baaz, shaykh ibn 'uthaymeen, and those like them.
and whenever i say something concerning a ruling, either in the khutbah, or outside of it, the words that i say are based on what the salaf, past and present, have said. and let me not pretend as though everything i say is in accordance with the salafee manhaj, as i aqm not perfect. but most of what i say, especially during the khutbah, is.
and in general, anything that is done at the masjid, from salaat to a janaazah, is done according to the salaf.
now there are some elements of bid'ah, that exist within the congregation. and these bid'aahs are not limited to a particular mathhab, but are spread across the mathhabs. some of the brothers shave their beards completely (hanbali, shaafi'ee, hanafi). some trim their beards or shave off some of their beards in certain spots such as the cheeks or have thin lines as beards, when we know that if they left their beards alone, it wolud be more than what was on their faces (hanbali, shaafi'ee, hanafi, and SALAFEE). some leave their beards alone as commanded (hanbali, shaafi'ee, hanafi, and salafee).
and this is what the bid'aah and disobedience to Allaah and His Messanger (salla Allaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) is like in our community and masjid (not limited to beards), and can be found from the major sins (alcohol, gambling, adultery, drugs, stealing) to the minor sins (looking, etc.) and they can be found in everybody from salafee to non-salafee. bid'aahs like raising hands immediately after salaat, and so forth and so on. basically, many of the same bid'aahs that have already been complained to the 'ulamaah about.
as far as the bid'aahs are concerned, they don't effect anyone except the doers of them. and the salafee brothers are honest, they will testify to that fact. we, the salafees, know according to the way of as salaf as saalih, so we don't approach these things, or we ask about them before we get involved. if there is something that i suspect is bid'aah (such as reciting qur'aan for a dead person in our location, with the intention of the dead receiving the reward for it, which was done recently in the masjid, which i didnt involve myself in, i simply left), then i do not act, until i know. and i advise those who will listen to do the same. so for example the issue that is found in the hanafi mathhab here, of reciting qur'aan for a dead person, with the intention of the dead receiving the reward for it. as far as i know, the salaf say it is bid'aah. but the hanafee 'ulamaah say it is ok, according to what i read from them, not what i was told. so the issue of whether it is a bid'aah or not , is a debate to take place between the 'ulamaah, not the ignorant, like myself and the congregation. nevertheless, when i try to make it known that this, or anything is bid'aah according to the salafees, then they say it is ok, according to the hanafees. and it is like this for everything, as long as there is not a direct quotation from the qur'aan, or hadeeths that contradict it. and i don't blame them for not listening to me, b/c who am i? i am not an 'aalim of even a student.i'm just a regular muslim, like them. even though i am the imaam, they see me as a peer, or even less than that. so they listento the admonishments, but do they put them into practice? then this is another question. and no one can force anyone to do anything in the U.S.A. maybe in the muslim lands, but not here.
then there are the issues of some decisions that i make, that are not in accordance with the salafee manhaj. such as placing a beardless khateeb in front of the people. i did that some fridays ago, not because i wanted to, but out of neccesity. i had to go out of town, so i called one of three people who are available, and knows who to perform the khutbah. the first, who has a beard, also was going out of town. so the second who is beardless, said he would do it.
and mind you shaykh, that the bearded khateeb has a terrible recitation when it comes to al faatihaah. and the beardless khateebs recite correctly. and from what i know about the rectiation of al faatihaah in salaat and it being obligatory, and that those who recite correctly, should not be lead by those who do not. but then knowing that someone who commits an open fisq, shouldn't be imaam over those who do not, then i am stuck with a weighty decision to make. so in reality, i should have went to the beardless khateebs first, because al faatihaah is obligatory for the salaat to be accepted, the beard in not. and none of the salafees, except for two, and one was mentioned already, knows how to give a khutbah, the other gives a khutbah somewhere else, and doesn't have time to do both,as far as i know. and none of the salafees asked me why i did that.
so when the salafees, see or hear of this, some of them dislike it, to the point that if they come in, and see the beardless khateeb, then they will leave, or if they heard that he is going to give a khutbah, then they don't come at all. instead, they make a hardship on themselves by travelling 100 miles to a salafee masjid in Atlanta, or they don't perform jumu'aah at all. or they get together in a house or apartment that is not completely dedicated for the purpose of 'ibaadah, to perform salaat or jumu'aah.
and because of the fact that i learned a major portion of my Islaam from a faqeeh who some of them say is not a salafee, but is a hisbee, then i am not a salafee, but am a hisbee as well. even though i don't ascribe to every single view that he does. there is not a scholar that i know or heard of anywhere in the world, that was asked about this faqeeh by name. neither is there any fatwa or kalaam from any 'ulamaah that says "abandon such and such faqeeh". and because of this, i don't abandon him, but i learn from him, and the things that i am positive are not right, i leave. and this same faqeeh believes that some of the filistine martyrdom (suicide) operations are o.k. to do. and the majority of the salafee 'ulamaah don't. so does this make him 100% non-salafee, or is it just in this area that he is deficient? according to the salafee 'ulamaah, just in the area, he is deficient. so some of them say about me "such and such faqeeh was his teacher, so he (myself) is like him". but they never ask me what do i think, even though my opinion is worthless anyway. i stick by the 'ulamaah past and present, and where there is doubt in my mind, caused by differences of opinions between the 'ulamaah, then i try ti leave it where it is, and neither call to it, or away from it. as far as suicide operations go, i think they are haraam, i would never do them, nor would i advise anyone to them. i would rather be killed by my enemy, than for me to kill myself trying to kill my enemy. that is my position, until Allaah guides me to otherwise.
and because a salafee put a mimbar in the masjid (which is too small for a mimbar) without a shoora, and i removed it, he restarted his abandonment of the masjid, and added me to it. maybe he did so, thinking that i didnt want to follow the sunnah, or maybe because of the way i went about removing the mimbar (which i was kind of harsh with him, although i shouldn't have been). and some of the same salafees came into the masjid and rearranged the place without a shoora, and they put everything they thought (they had no sure knowledge of it at the time) was bid'aah on the sister's side, causing fitnah over there. and we put everything back in its place. then they came to us and informed us why they did it (because things were affecting their khushoo'). but they weren't really coming to the masjid that much for anything to affect their khushoo'. once or twice a month, while the main people (all mathhabs) were coming every single night for 'esha and a couple of other salaats.
and so shaykh, because to these various things, some of which they were the cause of, some of which they were not, the salafees wish to start a salafee masjid.
and only a few of the salafees at any given time, have come to me complaining about certain things, but i did my best to explain it, as i am ignorant just like them. sometimes, i may not have said the correct thing, but i am a human being, and so was my forefather Aadam (alaihi assalaam). and sometimes, i was correct. but for what ever the reason is, that some of the salafees want to start a new masjid as of today, i don't know. and they have asked or attempted to ask the 'ulamaah about starting one, without letting the 'ulamaah know that there is already a masjid established, and that the imaam of the masjid is on the haqq as much as he can be, but not everyone in the congregation is, and that they have some issuse with some of the congregation. so they asked the 'ulamaah a one-sided question, looking for a complete and detailed fatwa, and that is wrong. i don't know if they consider me a hisbee, and the masjid as well. no one has said anything to me, complained to me, advised me, corrected me, nothing. so to me, starting a new masjid is unjustified, and it will divide the jamaa'aat, and that is fitnah, and fitnah is haraam. and indeed shaykh, they are not considering everything in this deen, but only certain short term goals. for example shaykh, the only muslim cemetary within 100 miles is on the masjid property that some of them want to abandon. if one of them was to die tonight, where will he have himself buried at, after burning bridges with his fellow brothers who oversee the muslim cemetary? and for example, some of them used to come to the masjid and even to the beardless khateeb, seeking financial assistance, and some still come, and the masjid provides for them as best as it can in situations that warrant assistance. who will assist them when the majority of salafees here are masaakeen, and those with wealth are the mubtadeen?
the prophet (salla Allaahu alaihi wa sallam) said in the famous hadeeth: "if you see an evil, then change it with you hand. if you cannot, then speak out about it. if you cannot, then hate it in your heart, and that is the least (or weakest) of imaan". and shaykh, you know that in the U.S.A. where there is no sharee'ah like in the blessed lands that you are in, that we cannot change anything with our hands, except to start a new masjid, which is not addressing the problem, but running away from it. i nor anyone else cannot physically stop a muslim from coming to the masjid and performing his/her bid'aah. and if we start new masjids, them who's left to advise the evildoers. the only thing that we have the ability to do here, is speak out about it and hate it in our hearts. and i know, because i interact with the mubtadees, that if they were abandoned, then they would probably be glad that we were gone, and increase themselves in things that they might have wanted to do, but didn't for fear of admonishment from us. indeed shaykh, they do enough now, that they are advised about certain things, but do not take heed. and this is in general. not all of the congregation is like this. just like not all of the salafees here are free of various bid'aahs and sins.
so dear honorable shaykh, i have been as honest and impartial as i can be about the situation, taking blame where i should, and casting it where i should, and not taking the sides of anything, except truth. and i hope that those salafees see this question before it reaches you, and can add whatever i left out, as only they know the real reasons why they want to start a masjid.
i hope that this is conveyed to you as i wrote it. and based on what i wrote, i hope that you will advise us as to what path to take.
1. should the salafees start a new masjid, or should they stay where they are at, and fear Allaah as much as they can?
2. if you advise the salafees to start a new masjid, and some of the salafaees disagree, how should we deal with them?
3. if you advise the salafees to not start a new masjid, and some of the salafaees disagree, how should we deal with them?
4. if the salafees start a new masjid, how should they deal with the other masjids, on issues like where should the salafees be buried at, who should they get financial assistance from, etc.
baaraka Allaahu feeka, yaa shaykh wa jazaaka Allaahu khairan aydan.
wa baaraka Allaahu feekum wa jazaakum Allaahu khairan aydan,
to my brothers/sisters at albaseerah.org, for providing the muslims with the opportunities to reach out to the 'ulamaah.

and because of the fact that i learned a major portion of my Islaam from a faqeeh who some of them say is not a salafee, but is a hisbee, then i am not a salafee, but am a hisbee as well. even though i don't ascribe to every single view that he does. there is not a scholar that i know or heard of anywhere in the world, that was asked about this faqeeh by name. neither is there any fatwa or kalaam from any 'ulamaah that says "abandon such and such faqeeh". and because of this, i don't abandon him, but i learn from him, and the things that i am positive are not right, i leave. and this same faqeeh believes that some of the filistine martyrdom (suicide) operations are o.k. to do. and the majority of the salafee 'ulamaah don't. so does this make him 100% non-salafee, or is it just in this area that he is deficient? according to the salafee 'ulamaah, just in the area, he is deficient. so some of them say about me "such and such faqeeh was his teacher, so he (myself) is like him". but they never ask me what do i think, even though my opinion is worthless anyway. i stick by the 'ulamaah past and present, and where there is doubt in my mind, caused by differences of opinions between the 'ulamaah, then i try ti leave it where it is, and neither call to it, or away from it. as far as suicide operations go, i think they are haraam, i would never do them, nor would i advise anyone to them. i would rather be killed by my enemy, than for me to kill myself trying to kill my enemy. that is my position, until Allaah guides me to otherwise.
and because a salafee put a mimbar in the masjid (which is too small for a mimbar) without a shoora, and i removed it, he restarted his abandonment of the masjid, and added me to it. maybe he did so, thinking that i didnt want to follow the sunnah, or maybe because of the way i went about removing the mimbar (which i was kind of harsh with him, although i shouldn't have been). and some of the same salafees came into the masjid and rearranged the place without a shoora, and they put everything they thought (they had no sure knowledge of it at the time) was bid'aah on the sister's side, causing fitnah over there. and we put everything back in its place. then they came to us and informed us why they did it (because things were affecting their khushoo'). but they weren't really coming to the masjid that much for anything to affect their khushoo'. once or twice a month, while the main people (all mathhabs) were coming every single night for 'esha and a couple of other salaats.
and so shaykh, because to these various things, some of which they were the cause of, some of which they were not, the salafees wish to start a salafee masjid.
and only a few of the salafees at any given time, have come to me complaining about certain things, but i did my best to explain it, as i am ignorant just like them. sometimes, i may not have said the correct thing, but i am a human being, and so was my forefather Aadam (alaihi assalaam). and sometimes, i was correct. but for what ever the reason is, that some of the salafees want to start a new masjid as of today, i don't know. and they have asked or attempted to ask the 'ulamaah about starting one, without letting the 'ulamaah know that there is already a masjid established, and that the imaam of the masjid is on the haqq as much as he can be, but not everyone in the congregation is, and that they have some issuse with some of the congregation. so they asked the 'ulamaah a one-sided question, looking for a complete and detailed fatwa, and that is wrong. i don't know if they consider me a hisbee, and the masjid as well. no one has said anything to me, complained to me, advised me, corrected me, nothing. so to me, starting a new masjid is unjustified, and it will divide the jamaa'aat, and that is fitnah, and fitnah is haraam. and indeed shaykh, they are not considering everything in this deen, but only certain short term goals. for example shaykh, the only muslim cemetary within 100 miles is on the masjid property that some of them want to abandon. if one of them was to die tonight, where will he have himself buried at, after burning bridges with his fellow brothers who oversee the muslim cemetary? and for example, some of them used to come to the masjid and even to the beardless khateeb, seeking financial assistance, and some still come, and the masjid provides for them as best as it can in situations that warrant assistance. who will assist them when the majority of salafees here are masaakeen, and those with wealth are the mubtadeen?
the prophet (salla Allaahu alaihi wa sallam) said in the famous hadeeth: "if you see an evil, then change it with you hand. if you cannot, then speak out about it. if you cannot, then hate it in your heart, and that is the least (or weakest) of imaan". and shaykh, you know that in the U.S.A. where there is no sharee'ah like in the blessed lands that you are in, that we cannot change anything with our hands, except to start a new masjid, which is not addressing the problem, but running away from it. i nor anyone else cannot physically stop a muslim from coming to the masjid and performing his/her bid'aah. and if we start new masjids, them who's left to advise the evildoers. the only thing that we have the ability to do here, is speak out about it and hate it in our hearts. and i know, because i interact with the mubtadees, that if they were abandoned, then they would probably be glad that we were gone, and increase themselves in things that they might have wanted to do, but didn't for fear of admonishment from us. indeed shaykh, they do enough now, that they are advised about certain things, but do not take heed. and this is in general. not all of the congregation is like this. just like not all of the salafees here are free of various bid'aahs and sins.
so dear honorable shaykh, i have been as honest and impartial as i can be about the situation, taking blame where i should, and casting it where i should, and not taking the sides of anything, except truth. and i hope that those salafees see this question before it reaches you, and can add whatever i left out, as only they know the real reasons why they want to start a masjid.
i hope that this is conveyed to you as i wrote it. and based on what i wrote, i hope that you will advise us as to what path to take.
1. should the salafees start a new masjid, or should they stay where they are at, and fear Allaah as much as they can?
2. if you advise the salafees to start a new masjid, and some of the salafaees disagree, how should we deal with them?
3. if you advise the salafees to not start a new masjid, and some of the salafaees disagree, how should we deal with them?
4. if the salafees start a new masjid, how should they deal with the other masjids, on issues like where should the salafees be buried at, who should they get financial assistance from, etc.

Asalaamu Alaiykum
I have a question to ask concerning annulment of marriage. This is addressed to the ulema who have knowledge on this topic.
Question: The question is that if the husband has said: "talaaq"
twice (and the wife is waiting for him to say it the third time) but
he instead wants to take this matter into court.
The husband has promised in the past to make adjustments on his
behavior but has broken his oath to Allah and his
wife. Such that there is no possibility of reconciliation
(between husband and wife) after knowing that divorce is regarded as
the least desirable of all lawful acts. So what should be done and
how should it been done?

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته يا إخوان وأخوة وبعد
I was asked by someone reagrding the carrying or holding of a stick (bow or staff ect.)
by Rasulullahi ( صلى الله عليه وسلام )During the yawmul Jumu'aah khutbaah.
If Rasulullahi ( صلى الله عليه وسلام ) due to his age at the time or illness did this ,that is one matter , yet is it legislative act of sunnah to be emulated ?
whereas we today comply .Being nothing wrong from us to do so ?
I do not like to answer without knowing where what is asked can be confirmed .
so as not to offend Allah (عزوجل)or His Rasul ( صلى الله عليه وسلام ).
only assistance in this with the authenticated ahadith to confirm would be appreciated.
جزاك الله خيراً
