On one hand I am extremely elated, while on the other hand I feel intense regret and sorrow.

As for the overwhelming sense of joy and happiness, I reflect upon the words of our father, the Muftee, our beloved and honorable Shaykh, Shaykh ‘Abdul-Azeez aalish-Shaykh, may Allaah preserve, protect, and bless him, who stated that when the Qur’aan and Sunnah Society is mentioned, it brings happiness to the hearts.

May Allaah shower his mercy and forgiveness upon them and those who aid them and grant them the highest level of paradise. Likewise, reflecting, speaking about, reviewing, or any other thought regarding the Alee ibn Abee Taalib Educational Seminar brings tranquility to my heart and an inward and outward display of contentment and excitement.

This was by far the best trip that I have ever taken. I am already looking forward to going next year, or at least supporting al-baseerah.org/Qur’aan and Sunnah Society to continue in these blessed events. The distance and the barrier of a telephone line was no longer a factor. Those whom we loved aforetime were more than merely voices. They were walking amongst us and sitting before us.

The thrill of sitting in the presence of the heirs of the Prophets, those whom Allaah has wanted good for and whom the creation supplicates for, is difficult to express at times. Additionally, being in the company of the administration and those participants who were eager to learn, benefit, and apply their knowledge was inspirational. After you consider all of this, imagine being in the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />land of Tawheed.

This is land in which our beloved, the last and best of the creation, the Messenger of Allaah, walked upon and conveyed the words of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic. This is the heart of the matter, and the other wondrous occasions, such as the performance of the ‘Umrah and our field trips, have not even been mentioned.

As for my regret and sorrow, I feel this in regards to missing the previous seminars (Aboo Bakr, ‘Umar, and ‘Uthmaan). May Allaah preserve those that organized, attended, and participated in those groundbreaking events. Likewise, I am saddened by those who overlook this unique opportunity.

For those who have not made the intentions to go, I encourage you to reflect on the numerous lectures, books, articles, tapes, and CDs which have conveyed to us the narrations of the Prophets and the salaf in the acquisition of knowledge. They traveled and were patient upon numerous types of burdens and hardships to seek out knowledge from the lips of the people of knowledge.

It is upon us to continue this tradition, especially in the West. The lack of adhering to this path has been one of the reasons why our dawah is not bearing plump, luscious fruits.

The Messenger of Allaah said, “An ‘Umrah to another ‘Umrah expiates what was between them, and the accepted Hajj receives nothing except paradise.” Likewise he stated, “Prayer in this mosque of mine is better than a thousand prayers observed in other mosques besides in, except that it be in al-Masjid al-Haraam.” He also said, “Prayer in al-Masjid al-Haraam is one hundred thousand times better than in any other masjid.” Prepare yourself and spend of that which Allaah has provided for you before you are overwhelmed with grief. Verily, he is able to replace that with what is better. May Allah make us of those who respond to Him and His Messenger when he calls us to that which will give us life. May Allaah make us of amongst the sincere in our actions and speech. May He guide us to that which He loves and is pleased with. May He continue to bless albaseerah.org and all of those that are involved in supporting it and organizing its activities. Ameen.
