Masha-Allaah the new site looks nice, very clean.
I noticed that the photo-gallery isn't working properly (I'm using firefox), when I click on the thumbnails, all I see is a big white rectangle with no enlarged picture inside.

And maybe the brown leaf can be replaced with an albaseerah logo (if there is one?)

I've got the same problem with Firefox but it seems to work perfectly well in IE 6 & 7, alhamdulillahi.

AsSalamualykum,

Alhamdulillah the new wbsite design looks great! MashaAllah

-- Here are few suggestions:

-- a. Providing access to lecture directories in a way that will make
it easy to download.

-- b. the website seems very slow

-- c. we can provide some way to search for questions similiar to ///THERE IS TO BE NO EXTERNAL LINKS///

-- d I realize that these require resources and development time, perhpas we can consider recruting ppl from say rentacoder or likes of it this can get us oversees programmer to complete the design quickly, as for funding this hosting I might have some ideas InshaAllah so please PM me.

-- e. The reason I suggested rentacoder etc is so that we can have an interface that is attractive and easy to use we dont want to loos new people because its hard to navigate the site, MashaAllah this site is of a lot of benefit, lets InshaAllah make it more accessible.

-- f. how about placing adds on online sites?

If there are funding issues or there are other things need to be discussed I would appreciate if the person incharge for this can PM me.

Jazak Allah Khair

As-Salamu Alikum, I was reading your suggestion and thinking. My brother I will personally greatly happy if you help Al-Baseerah. I swear by Allah, I know this Sheik has put a great effort. My personal experience, I know people have big mouth but not big assistance. The Sheik may not ask for money because of his Shyness. But I truely know he need help in everything including money, volunteering, technical support, distributing flyers and so on. I can't help in much because now I diving in the deep water, I myself need air to float. So help him and Allah will help you. Disregard Sheik words, he may not ask you for money being a shy person, but let do our part as much as we could.

bismillah ir rahman ir raheem
asalamualikum wa rahma tullahi wa baraka tuhu!
may allah reward you for your concern and care for albaseerah.org, we indeed need first help of Allah, then yours.

Spread the words of albaseerah.org and its classes and seminars around online & Offline as many people still do not know of albaseerah.org.

as far as i know NONE of the lectures are to be DOWNLOADED! therefore they are placed in the way they are placed.

as for the other suggestions, insha-allah ADMIN and WEB-DESIGNER will look into them to consider.

jazak allahu khayran
was-salamualikum wa rahma tullahi wabaraka tuhu

Default Dawah page for non muslims

AsSalamualikum,

Imagine you have a chance to run some adds on radio, or you meet someone who is interested in learning about Islam, which website you would refer them to?

I know a brother Yusuf Estes has a dozen of websites for new comers I am not posting link as they will be removed, but one can easily google for them.

My idea is that I am looking for a project manager from this forum, may be one of the admins and commitment from Sheikh Zahid to super vise in creating a website that has:

-- Muhasin-al-Islam
-- commonly asked (may be controversial) questions/answers by
non muslims
-- authentic info about Islam
-- all the links a person considering Islam may need:
-- such as how to get a translation of Quran
-- list of recommended books and how to get them
-- list of all Ahlus Sunnah centres in North America
-- some brouchures and flyers etc

Once we have such a website ready we can ask other AhleSunnah centres in North America to comment and give feedback,

the goal is to have one website that all the AhleSunnah centres can use for referring non muslims.

So whats next:
----------------

a. Need approval from Sheikh Zahid
b. Need a project manager

c. Project manager will make a action plan and milestones to be achieved for first protoype and can either get volunteers to work on it or create a project plan on rentacoder.com (in case this link gets removed type rentacoder at google to see what I am referring to, or PM me for the link) and get it done for low prices from people in South Asia etc. (I have someone who has shown interest in financing it as well)

d. Review with Sheikh Zahid and perform the improvements

e. Get other AhleSunnah centres to provide feed back and get them all listed on the website so that people can find closest centres.

f. Start marketing and spreading the site

g. InshaAllah Allah Subhanao will bless this and we will have lots of hits and successes and an accepted and extremely profitable transaction with Allah Subhanao.

Please PM me if I can be of any assistance.
