What is the sunnah for the number of ra'kah in taraweeh? We hear 11 and 21 are either of these number acceptable. Also, if one prays taraweeh can he then also pray additional ra'kat in the last third of the night as he would normally for qiyaam?

My questions is in our local masjid they have it so that one Imaam will lead the first 8 rak'ah of taraweeh and then they will take a break so that the brothers and sisters who believe that one should only pray 11 can leave. They do not pray witr but just the 8 and then leave. So, these people leave and then another Imaan will come forward and then finish praying the 21. We have heard the hadeeth that the one who starts and finishes with the Imaam he gains the reward of praying the entire night. So, in this situation if one stops at the 8 would this be considered finishing with the Imaam or should one finish the 21 to gain the reward of praying all night?

If a woman sees a GYN doctor and gets examined during the time of fasting... Does this break her fast?

1) Is it permissionable to not fast or to fast without eating if you didn't wake up in time for Sahor?

2)Also, What if you wake-up late and start eating right when the sun is coming up?

Plese help us with this. In this community the Imam makes frequent mistakes in his resitation during the taraweeh prayer when he is corrected, he continues on ignoring the correction. What should be done in a sitation such as this? Please advise us this is causing much distress

A question came to us asking, "I want to ask that if a pregnant woman keeps her fast after the baby is born but it takes time for her to keep the missed fast and unfortunately she dies before keeping her missed fast than what is the ruling in islam." Does the fast for her need to be made up or not?

I know that fighting during Ramadhaan is forbidden unless attacked and after I have announced that "I am fasting" three times. I am asking about training in martial arts (grappling, wrestling, and some striking (not in the face)). Is this the same as fighting that is forbidden? Jazak Allahu Khair.

Question 1: Should the traveler during Ramadhaan continue to pray the rawaatib (the sunnahs prayers attached to the fard salawaat), and is there a reward connected to doing them during this time?

Question 2: Please explain the difference between tahajjud and tawaareh?

I wanted to ask about the last 10 days of Ramadan, if one is praying at home alone and not at masjid can i recite the surats I know from the quran short surat from the quran because I don't know the longer once the imam recite. Would my prayer still be valid?

I have a question with regard to the hadith:
Abu Dhar, may Allah be pleased with him, relates:
"We fasted with Allah's Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, in Ramadan. He did not lead us in Qiyaam (Night Vigil Prayer) at all until there were seven nights of Ramadan left. Then he stood with us (that night, in prayer) until one third of the night had passed. He did not pray with us on the sixth. On the fifth night, he prayed with us until half of the night had passed. So we said, 'Allah's Messenger! Wouldn't you pray with us the whole night?' He replied: 'Whoever stands in prayer with Imam until he (the Imam) concludes the prayer, it will be recorded for him that he prayed the whole night…” (Recorded by Ibn Abi Shaybah, Abu Dawood, At-Tirmidhi (who authenticated it), An-Nasa'i, Ibn Majah, At-Tahawi (in Sharhu Ma`an il-Athar, Ibn Nasr, Al-Faryabi, and Al-Bayhaqi. The Hadith’s chain of narrators is authentic.)

In the following 3 situations, is there a difference in regard to the reward of praying entire night with imam by "concluding" with him:

1. Praying from start to finish in Isha through witr
2. Coming late to Isha but joining then finishing to witr
3. Coming after isha but during taraweeh and praying your fard isha with congregation - getting up for last 2 rakats after people do tasleem- and then also finishing with imam through witr prayer.

My friend thought it was safe to presume you have to catch Isha. Sometimes I might go late to a prayer, and do not want to compromise this reward, which is why I ask. It may dictate which mosque I go to at night too, since some prayers start 30 minutes later than others.
