Assalaamu alaykum,
Can muslim women in the West ride a bicycle? (to avoid the use of a car which costs a lot of money and harms the environment) If so, does she need her mahram to cycle beside her or can she go out on the bike by herself? |

what time is appropiate to offer Salaatud-Dhuha, meaning how soon after sunrise. i've read that we wait until the sun has risen 20 feet from the horizon, but is there a time frame like, say, 10:00, 11:00?

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim: as Salaam Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu: Dear Respected Shaykh: May Allah preserve you and grant you success in this world and the next. Ameen!!! A Muslim sister who was born and raised in the west was never really religious until recently when dawah was made to her and she accepted it Alhamdulillah. However, after accepting the dawah and trying to be a better Muslim woman, she notified us that she is doubting her faith because she claims she is facing a harder life, devastating hard ships, and bad news after accepting the dawah. She says "Why would Allah punish her like this when she is trying to be a better Muslim and person". An example of the hardships she tells us about is that she says "prior to coming to Islam, she was dating a non-Muslim male who she thought she would marry and was engaged to. But since the dawah, she stopped dating him, however after cutting relations with him she found out that he gave her the sexually transmitted disease, herpes." She also says, "since trying to become more righteous by wearing hijab, praying, et... , her life is generally becoming harder in her daily activities" and this is causing her to doubt her faith. I seek your guidance ya Shaikh in advising her: 1 - How should we advise her about her comments in doubting her faith and her saying, "Why is Allah punishing me for trying to be a better Muslim?" 2 - She is devestated by the news about the disease and wants to know if her disease has a cure in Islam like through ar Ruqya, Black Seed, Honey, Dua during Qiyam al Layl et... and if so, what is it, and what is the proper method in going about curing it? 3- Lastly she wants to know if she can marry someone in the future? If so, who is she permitted and prohibitted from marying since she has the disease?
