Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu
This thread is probably outdated- in that case disregard my query, otherwise.. my q is when a faasiq comes with a naba- like they have converted to Islam-and this person is a true known agent of shaitan before..declaring this conversion so is the same criteria applied of investigating their claim of conversion before accepting their shahadah and permitting them into mosques, Islamic gatherings, makkah and madinah etc. or is it left for Allah (SWT) to judge his state of affairs because this is his personal affair, and one should accept their declaration of shahadah and ignore their state of fisq. Jazakum'Allahu Khairan

As-salaamu 'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakaatuh
My Question: When someone talks to others about the general bad characteristics of the brothers in his community without mentioning names, is this considered backbiting? To the admin/moderators: is this thread for Questions relating to the Tafseer of Surat-ul-Hujuraat only or can I also ask questions related to the Tafseer of other Surahs. JazakumAllahu khayran, Sadiq. |

as-salaamu 'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakaatuh,
Insha Allah, my other questions related to the Qur'an can also be answered. If this is the wrong thread for such questions, please inform me & forgive me. 1) I understand that recitation of the Qur'an should also include contemplation of its meanings. So is it upon us, who do not understand Arabic, to recite from the Qur'an only the Surahs that we understand or should we have a translation with us every time we recite from the Book of Allah? And is it permissible to guess the meanings based on a little knowledge of Arabic and of the Qur'an, that we may have. 2) In Suratul Waqi'ah v 60, Allah says, {We have decreed death to you all, and We are not outstripped}. Does this refer to the death of this life before resurrection or would everything including Jannah come to an end? And does the verse also refer to the Angels? Jazak Allahu khayran. |

As-salaam alaikom wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh shaikh,
My question is regarding the 14th and the 16th ayaat of surah al-Hujiraat. When shaikh salih al-fawzan was asked regarding the names of ‘as-salafi’ and ‘al-athari’ if they are tazkiyatu-nafs or not, so the shaikh (hafidahullah) answered that there is no need to call yourself ‘as-salafi’ or ‘al-athari’ and he went on to explain why, he said; “As for whoever names himself salafee or atharee or whatever resembles that, then there is no need for this. Allah knows,†(1) and then he used as daleel ayah 16 of surah al-Hujiraat. Further, he used ayah 14 of Surah al-Hujiraat to proof that people should first learn, study, and understand their religion and after that the religion will enter their hearts bit by bit, and if they do this like it’s mentioned in ayah 16 than this becomes self praising. So is it correct to say that ayaat 14 & 16 of surah al-Hujiraat are proof that people with little knowledge or people who are just beginners in the Islam shouldn’t characterize themselves with names like ‘salafi’ as shaikh salih al-fawzan understood it? {Saturday 21 Shawal 1424; in explanation of ‘al-Fatawa al-Hamwiyah’} {(1) from here are this words of the shaikh qouted (if the translator needs it); http://www (min. 0:23)} Wallahu ta3ala a3lem. Wa salaam. |

As salaamu 'alaykum
My question is somewhat related to ayah 14 of Surah Hujuraat. If a person claims that he is knowledgeable about the religion while he does not even understand the fundamentals of the religion and rejects hadith. Furthermore, the person gets into argumentation with the salafee brothers every week about different issues, how should we deal with this person? There is sometimes a brother or some brothers who are keen about the religion and they listen in to this argumentation and the doubts brought by this individual. Should we try to refute these doubts according to our knowledge so that those who have a chance to be guided to the correct manhaj will not be led astray by his doubts or should we leave this individual and not discuss matters with him? Barak Allahu feekum |
