Assalamu aleikum - A sister does not want to get married, she is wealthy enough to live on her own or with a girl servant, her brother is her marham should she wish to travel. Is she sinning by refusing to get married ? she wants to know if marriage is obligatory on a person.

Assalamualaikum,
  1. I would also like to know the evidence for Allah having two eyes. Shaykh Uthaymeen (rahimahulllahu ta'ala) mentioned this in his book 'Basic Tenets of Faith', but he used the hadith about dajjal being one-eyed and your lord is not one-eyed. Is their any other proof as the wording of the hadith doesnt give a specific number. Or does the arabic word 'ain' always only refer to two eyes.
  2. Also please can you tell me how i can read the answers to my questions
May Allah have mercy upon you. Jazakallah khyr

wassalamualaikum w rahmatullahi w barakatuhu

Asalaam walaikum,
Can anyone tell me what if any is the difference between using a street drug like marijuana as compared to being prescribed drugs by the doctor that basically cause the same affect?

Ya Shaykh, can you give us some advice on how we to give da'wah to relatives & friends (muslims and non-muslims) who live very far away from us? Would it be a good idea to start with emails of excerpts from books of aqeedah like "The Three Fundamental Principles"? Would this also be good even for those who live close to us?

JazakAllahu khayran

Default Paying the Zakat

As Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuhu.
May Allaah Preserve You Shaykh, Ameen.

I have a small business, Masha-Allaah, and just read that it is obligatory to pay zakat on merchandise that is meant for sale, Subhan-Allaah. What are the conditions to paying the zakat on this type of wealth? And how does one determine the zakat?

Jazak Allaahu Khaira. Barak Allaahu Feek!

Assalamu aleykum
Please could you explain the following: a sister said that her non muslim father is her marham in everything except for travelling and marriage. I am aware that a non muslim cannot be the wali of the woman for marriage, but I did not know that the non muslim father cannot be marham for travelling and I would like to know if this is correct or not? May Allah reward you in good. Amin.

As-salaamu`alaykum warahmatullaahi wabarakaatuh,

A questioner asks:
Is it permissible for a Muslimah to travel in a car or bus with other sisters while her mahram travels in a different car but they are following one another, traveling together as in a motorcade. BaarikAllaahu feekum.

My husband has become a chain smoker. He started to smoke maybe a year after we got married and gradually the smoking has increased, he says he needs to smoke to calm his agressive nature. I have many times tried to advice him but he only gets angry and refuses to listen to me. He knows very well its haraam but says he cant stop. He smokes on the balcony of our home and when he comes inside the house the smoke gets everywhere and it makes me sick. What can I do? I have even thought of renting a studio for myself where I could be free of that offensive smell. Is this a valid reason to ask for khula (no kids involved)? Jazakum Allaah khairan.

as-salaam alaykum wa rahmatullaah wa barakaatuh,

Is my husband's smoking a valid reason to ask for khula. He has been advised and the smoke makes me sick but he continues to chain-smoke anyway.

My name is Abu Abdul-Qayyum Salim Saafir. I'm writing this to seek
guidance from those who are more knowledgable than I. I wanted to
know, what should I do if my intentions are to go study but my wife does
not want to go because she has children from a previous marriage and
she said it would be hard on her to leave them for an extened period of
time.
Should I go on my own?
