6) Qaala: 'Sadaqta.' Fa'jibna'la yas'aluhu wa ya'saddiqihu.

7) Qaala: 'Fa akhbirni an il 'emaan?'

8) Qaala: 'An tu'mina billahi wa malaa'ikatihi wa kutubhi, wa rasulihi, wa yawmil aakhir, wal'tumina bil qadar khairihi wa sharihi'

9)
Qaala: 'Sadaqta.'

10)
Qaala: 'Fa akhbirni an il ihsaan?'

11) Qaala: 'An taa'abud Allah ka 'anakka taraah, fa 'in lam takun ta raab fa 'innahu yaraak.'

12 ) Qaala: 'Fa akhbirni a'nis saa'at?'

13) Qaala: 'Ma'al masoolu anha bi'alama mina as saa'li.'

14) Qaala: 'Fa akhbirni an amaaraa'tiha?'

16) Thumman talaq fa labithtu malleeyan thumma qaala: 'Yaa Umar atadri man is saa'il?'

17) Qult: Allahu wa rasooluhu a'alam

18) Qaala: Fa innahu Jibreel ataakum yu'alimukum deenakum.

19) Rawaahu Muslim

1) Also on the authority of `Umar, Radiyallaahu`anhu, who said:

2)
One day we were sitting with the Messenger of Allaah, Sallallaahu`alayhi wasallam: When there approached a man whose clothes were exceedingly white and whose hair was exceedingly black. No signs of travel were apparent on him, and none of us knew him. He walked up and sat down in front of the Prophet, Sallallaahu'alayhi wasallam, resting his knees against his knees and placing the palms of his hands on his thighs and said:

3) 'O Muhammad, tell me about Islaam?'

4) So the Messenger of Allah,
Sallallaahu`alayhi wasallam, said:

5) '
Al-Islam is to testify that there is no god worthy of being worshipped in truth except Allaah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah, to establish the prayer, to give the Zakaat, to fast Ramadhaan, and to make the pilgrimage to the House, if you are able to do so.'

6)
He said: 'You have spoken truthfully.' We were amazed at his asking him and saying that he had spoken truthfully.

7) He said: 'So tell me about Eemaan?'

8)
He said: 'Eemaan is to believe in Allaah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Last Day and to believe in the Divine Decree - the good of it and the evil of it.'

9)
He said: 'You have spoken truthfully.'

10) He said: '
So tell me about Ihsaan?'

11)
He said: 'It is that you worship Allaah as if you can see Him, And if you can't see Him, then (knowing that) verily, He sees you.'

12)
He said: 'So tell me about the Hour?'

13)
He said: 'The one being questioned knows no more about it than the questioner.'

14)
He said: 'Then tell me about it's signs?'

15)
He said: 'That the slave-girl will give birth to her mistress, and that you will see the barefooted, naked and destitute shepherds competing in constructing lofty buildings.'

16)
"Then he left and I stayed for some time. Then he said: 'O`Umar, do you know who the questioner was?'

17)
I said: 'Allaah and His Messenger know best.'

18)
He said: 'It was Jibreel who came to teach your religion'.

19) Reported by Muslim

Ma'as salaama,
